Setup¶
Roadmap comes in two editions. You install them yourself, on your own computer or on a server for your team, and they work with the AI provider you bring.
| Edition | For | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Lite | Small teams: compose contexts and serve them over MCP | To be released soon |
| Pro | Teams and organisations: a shared Knowledge Base fed by Git, Confluence, Jira and Bitbucket | Available as a preview build |
This section installs and configures the server. What each edition does is in the Lite edition and Pro edition sections.
To get going with Pro:
- Download and install it, open it in your browser, and create the root user.
- Add users, each with a role, and create a workspace per team or project if you need more than one.
- Configure Git so Roadmap can read your repositories, and install a pack of personas and topic types, or set them up yourself.
- Install the plugins you need on top of the bundled ones, if any.
- Make an API token, connect an AI client over MCP with it, and read the Pro edition section for what to do next.
